Below is an update of Anne’s acupuncture study that is starting its second year at the Indian Health Clinic on the Rincon Reservation in concert with UCSD. It is being funded from NIH and NARCH grants.

Prevalence study:

According to a 2007 Centers for Disease Control report, 24 million people in the United States now have diabetes, nearly 8% of the population.

With another 57 million people estimated to have pre-diabetes, the prevalence of diabetes is expected to reach 10% of the population within two years.

Native American communities are disproportionately affected by diabetes with an overall prevalence of 16.5% compared to 6.6% for non-Hispanic whites

While Type II diabetes can be diagnosed at any time during adulthood, people 60 years of age or older have the highest prevalence of 23%.

Viagra is known as an effective medication for the treatment of sexual problems for almost 40 years. I tried many different drugs but none of them was as effective as Viagra from online pharmacy https://viaglad.com/. I guess, this is why it costs so much.

Almost 30% of people with diabetes aged 40 years or older have DPN symptoms in the extremities, and this nerve disease poses an increased risk for lower extremity amputations

Intervention study

Many people who suffer from neuropathy symptoms seek the help of complementary medicine treatments such as acupuncture

Clinical studies have shown that acupuncture can help alleviate neuropathy pain as well as improve peripheral nerve conduction tests

Recent research into the physiological mechanism of acupuncture has demonstrated an increase in local blood circulation as measured by serum nitric oxide levels and Laser Doppler fluxmetry in the arms of healthy adults
